Thousands Expected for Detroit Veterans Day Parade

Thousands of area residents are expected to show up on Jefferson Avenue in Detroit Saturday for the city’s Veterans’ Day Parade.  Officials such as State Senator David Knezek and City Council President Brenda Jones will watch as veterans’ groups from dozens of Michigan cities and area high schools march down the avenue.

Phil Harrison is with the Metro Detroit Veterans’ Coalition.  He spoke with WDET’s Jerome Vaughn.

Detroit’s Veterans’ Day Parade kicks off Saturday morning at 10 near Jefferson and Chene.  The festivities wrap up after the parade in Hart Plaza.
