Go Blue or Go Green? WDET’s College Football Preview

Michigan’s football season begins Thursday and Michigan State’s kicks off on Friday.  Detroit News columnist John Niyo and longtime sports reporter and WDET producer Art Regner join Stephen Henderson on Detroit Today to discuss the possibilities for both teams.  Here is the essence of their conversation:

  • Harbaugh debut: The anticipation surrounding University of Michigan’s coach Jim Harbaugh and his return to Ann Arbor is taking the college football world by storm according to Henderson, Niyo, and Regner.  Harbaugh’s debut tomorrow against Utah will set the pace for the Michigan football season and determine if he lives up to the hype.
  • Don’t forget about the Spartans: Michigan State will have to earn its publicity this season.  With Ohio State defending their title as national champions and the University of Michigan bringing in Harbaugh, the Spartans are under a lot of pressure to reach their potential, according to Niyo.
