Recycle Your Old Electronics!

The University of Michigan’s eighth annual electronic recycling event starts Friday.

The devices will be broken and manufactured into new items.

Office of Sustainability’s Barb Hagen says last year’s event brought in 195 tons of used electronics.

What’s really interesting is that people are really understanding the impact of the environment of these electronics and want recycle it responsibly,” Hagen says.  ”So we see people who come through with a bag of just cords that they didn’t want to throw away.”

Hagen says the university expects to see five thousand cars this year.

She says there is no limit to how many devices a person can donate.
