New Dean Of UM Music, Arts, Theater: Students Need To Be Artists And Entreprenuers

Aaron Dworkin, the founder of the Sphinx Organization, speaks with Stephen about his Enappointment as Dean of the School of Music, Theater and Dance at the University of Michigan.

Dworkin says he’s not coming from academia but sees this as a positive because his external experience includes a solid understanding of how the arts world is changing.

Dworkin views entrepreneurship as a critical component to the next generation of artists. He says students need to pursue entrepreneurial endeavors along with their artistic paths.

He says he wants to enhance diversity of students within the program but within legal guidelines
