Join us in celebrating the life and legacy of Judy Adams, a shining light in the Detroit community whose musical brilliance, infectious smile, and boundless spirit left an indelible mark. The family of Judy Adams, WDET, the historic Garden Theater, and Marx Layne Public Relations will present this special event, which is open to all–friends, family, colleagues, and members of the Detroit community who were touched by Judy’s warm on-air presence. We’ll reflect on her remarkable life, share memories, and enjoy the music that defined her journey. Throughout her career, Judy wore many hats–musician, composer, music show host, educator, and local personality–always sharing her love for music with those around her.
During the event, WDET will announce the Judy Adams Music Internship, a tribute to Judy’s memory and lasting legacy at WDET Detroit Public Radio. Through her curation of music and storytelling, Judy gifted listeners with knowledge, joy, and deep musical connection. The internship will foster the education and career development of students with a passion for music, education, community service, and radio.
The evening will feature light bites and a cash bar. Parking is available in nearby public structures.
The Garden Theater is located at 3929 Woodward Ave. Detroit, MI.
We look forward to honoring Judy’s contributions to the city of Detroit and celebrating her life with you.
