Legislative Update for the remainder of 2015
What’s the outlook for our legislature for the rest of the year?
Detroit Today host Stephen Henderson, talks with legislative reporter for Michigan Public Radio Jake Neher, about what we can expect from the Michigan Legislature leading up to their holiday recess.
Gun Laws: Neher says that Governor Snyder plans to veto all bills related to concealed carry that reach him. “If there is a bill that is sent to his desk that allows concealed carry in places like schools and other gun-free zones without a ‘local option’ he would veto it.”
Energy: On the topic of energy reform, Neher believes that this is one of the legislature’s top priorities. “We are seeing a complete rewrite of Michigan’s energy policies,” he says.
