Summer Camp Is No Longer Just For Kids
An adult summer camp called Camp Kitigin is re-opening in September.
Adults who want to reclaim their childhood can escape to Camp Kitigin this September. The summer camp is completely “screen free”, which means no phones, tablets, or laptops are allowed.
Krisitin Stempky is the Operations Coordinator for the Michigan Recreation and Park Association. She says the policy makes it easier for campers to unwind.
“Even when you try to go on vacation, you’ll still find yourself looking at your email or answering your phone a little bit more often than you should be, ” Stempky says. “And so by having a camp like this, it’s necessary for you to step back into reality and notice what actually means something.”
The camp costs include a journal and camera so participants can document their experience. Campers can expect traditional summer activities such as hiking, crafts, and sing-alongs.
