Rep. Dan Kildee Reflects on Life of Uncle and Former Congressman Dale Kildee

On Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Dale Kildee passed away at the age of 92

“The way he carried himself, the way he interacted with people … represent a legacy that I think we should all take to heart.” –Rep. Dan Kildee (D-Flint Township)

His nephew Rep. Dan Kildee succeeded him in Congress, and he says he hopes people will remember Dale Kildee for his contributions to education reform, union advocacy for the working people of Flint and a number of other achievements.

Rep. Dan Kildee (D-Flint Township), says his own life and political career were closely influenced by his uncle. “It’s doubly difficult for me because this is my mentor, my teacher.”

Kildee says his uncle Dale always led with kindness in his work and urges others to do the same.
