Canada’s Governor General Touts Detroit’s Role in Key International Partnership

Governor General David Johnston says trade between the U.S. and Canada is crucial for both countries.

The Governor General of Canada is taking a tour of U.S. Midwest cities.  Last night, he was in Detroit.

The Right Honorable David Johnston spoke to a group of dignitaries at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

The Governor General represents the Queen as Canada’s head of state.  He’s also the Commander-in-Chief of the country’s armed forces.

He took a few minutes to speak with WDET’s Jerome Vaughn about his unique position and his reason for coming to Detroit.
