This Detroit-based duo tend to make their recordings and live shows sound like there’s four or more people on stage with the use of various loop pedals and samplers; they’ll start off a riff, phrase, or melodic hook and then record those samples on the fly and create a steady loop of those parts to fill out the arrangements, while Barnett primarily drums (but also plays guitar) and Sleeman’s vocals soar (over his additions of keyboards).
