Detroit CentriX, the duo of composer/bassist/vocalist Paul Randolph (right) and vocalist/songwriter Kathy Kosins, is gaining a reputation for seamlessly blending jazz, soul, funk, R&B and indie into a genre-defying sonic stew that’s as rich as Detroit's musical tapestry.

This week’s Pick of the Week is a fresh, soulful gem from Detroit CentriX, the dynamic duo of Paul Randolph and Kathy Kosins. Together, they are blending their deep musical roots and talents to deliver something truly special.

For those not yet familiar, Randolph is a powerhouse vocalist, bassist and producer, known for his work with the band Mudpuppy, his collaborations with the globally renowned collective Jazzanova, and a solo career that fuses genres with ease. Kosins, on the other hand, is a celebrated jazz and soul vocalist whose credits include working with the likes of Michael Henderson and Was (Not Was), in addition to a stellar solo career.

What makes Detroit CentriX stand out is how these two artists seamlessly blend elements of jazz, soul, funk, R&B and indie into a genre-defying, sonic stew that’s as rich as the musical history of Detroit itself. This track is a groove-laden, feel-good jam that not only captures the raw energy of Detroit’s burgeoning music scene, but also highlights the undeniable chemistry between Randolph and Kosins.

“Ain’t No Wrong” pulls you in with its smooth vocals, infectious hook, and intricate sonic layering, creating a soundscape that feels both classic and forward-thinking.
