Angela D. Coleman is a holistic health specialist and founder of the global nonprofit Sisterhood Agenda.

The Princeton University graduate holds certifications in trauma, psychological first aid, suicide prevention and African holistic health, and is the author of numerous books, including “The Art of Chilling Out for Women.”

The book highlights a different aspect of life and how to use what’s around to create a better mental outlook. Coleman takes a holistic approach to healing, giving people who identify as women the daily tools needed to be at one with themselves.

CultureShift spoke with Coleman to discuss her book and how important self-care is for women.

“A light that shines that brightly for too long will eventually burn out if at least you don’t turn it off at some point,” says Coleman. “And that’s where the rest and relaxation, and restoration and resetting process is so important.”
