Over 150 Detroit-based artists in a single gallery.

That’s the ambitious scope of “Get Together,” the massive group show now on display through May 6 at the Reyes | Finn contemporary art gallery in Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood.

The exhibition offers a partial snapshot of how extensive the city’s art scene is, pulling from early career artists fresh out of school to Detroit icons like 82-year-old Allie McGhee, whose abstract expressionist paintings are on display at “Get Together.” A full list of artists in the show is listed on Reyes | Finn’s website.

Bridget Finn is the director of the Reyes | Finn gallery. She joined CultureShift to discuss the significance of a group show of this scale and the importance of making the art gallery an accessible space for all.
