Many Schools Are Closed Fri., March 13 Due to Coronavirus Concerns

The list includes Detroit Public Schools Community District. All Catholic Schools in Detroit area are also closed Mar. 13 and 16.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer has ordered all schools in Michigan to close for three weeks starting March 16 to prevent the spread of and exposure to the COVID-19 coronavirus.

The following schools are closed Friday, March 13:

Garden City

Gibraltar

Grosse Pointe

Hamtramck

Livonia

Melvindale-North Allen Park

Northville

Redford Union

River Rouge

Romulus

South Redford

Taylor

Trenton

Westwood

Oakland County:

Avondale

Birmingham

Bloomfield Hills

Clarenceville

Clarkston

Clawson

Ferndale

Hazel Park

Holly

Huron Valley

Lake Orion

Madison District

Oak Park

Pontiac

Rochester

All Livingston County public schools are closed Friday. Ann Arbor Schools are closing at 1:29 p.m. The Archdiocese of Detroit has ordered all Catholic schools under its jurisdiction to close March 13 and 16.
