Its main campus may be two hours north of Detroit in Mt. Pleasant, but Central Michigan University is looking to expand its presence here in the city.
CMU already has a network of satellite campuses in the suburbs as well as an office in Campus Martius. Now, the university says it’s doubling down with a new strategy to increase its reach in Southeast Michigan.
Just this week, the university hired a new executive director of Detroit outreach.
“This is a major part of the state and we want our alumni to be supported so they can support the community,” says CMU President Bob Davies on Detroit Today with Stephen Henderson.
