Listen to Partner, the Polaris Prize-Nominated Windsor Rock Band

Partner seemingly came out of nowhere to get nominated for the prestigious Polaris Prize for their album ‘In Search of Lost Time’.

The album was a trademark mix of 90s-era arena rock riffs and tongue-in-cheek lyrics. They’re now on the road supporting punk rockers Titus Andronicus.

Partner’s Josee Caron and Lucy Niles stopped by WDET and joined Culture Shift’s Amanda LeClaire for some music and conversations about their musical influences.

“I’m gonna say it was a mix of Shania Twain and Tegan & Sara” says Niles. “Our older stuff sounds more punk, mostly because we didn’t have the resources to make it sound not punk.”

“When the new album comes out, the influences will have coalesced,” says Caron. “You don’t just come out sounding like Shania Twain. I wish!”
