Michigan authors Jon Milan and Gail Offen have traveled all over the state to find the spookiest, scariest and downright strangest reports of haunted places.

Legends and stories from Marquette to Detroit fill the pages of “Michigan Haunts: Public Places, Eerie Spaces,” out now on Acadia Publishing.

That includes the story of the old Presque Isle lighthouse which, although being decommissioned and disconnected from electricity, is still seen lit up on some nights. Or, the reports of ghostly apparitions that walk Detroit’s Majestic Theatre after hours.
