Hamissi Mamba Was Ready to Become a Father. He Needed a Visa To Meet His Children
Hamissi Mamba tries to obtain a visa to join his wife and newborn twins in the United States and after two years arrives to start a new life with his family.

Hamissi Mamba was born and raised in the small African country of Burundi. He was still living there when he found out his wife, who was already in the U.S., was pregnant.
“My dream was to welcome my two girls in the world, but unfortunately I couldn’t,” he says. “I got denied a visa.”
After multiple attempts, Mamba finally obtained a visa in 2015. But that was the just the start to his journey.
“Being a dad for the first time with twins, that was a critical moment,” he says. “We tried and learned a lot.”
