Healthcare is one of the biggest issues Democratic presidential candidates will undoubtedly be asked about during this week’s debates. Interestingly, all of the candidates who have unveiled comprehensive healthcare plans have ideas similar to the system currently used in Denmark.

Henning Hoeg, Danish reporter who covers healthcare among other issues for the national paper B.T. Daily joins Stephen Henderson on Detroit Today to discuss how the Denmark healthcare system functions and what we should be watching and listening for on the topic during the debates.

With healthcare being a dominant issue for voters, Hoeg suggests listening to proposals and trying to understand them before being frightened by words like Obamacare and Socialism. He says “It’s a matter of actually knowing what it is we’re talking about” before making a decision.
