Lehman Robinson converted to Islam when he was a teenager working at a secular Michigan summer camp. In this episode of StoryCorps Detroit, he tells his friend Kareem Hakim, that when he heard his camp buddy was fasting for Ramadan, he decided to join him.

“Dude you’re too pure of a person… what in the hell!?” laughed Hakim when Robinson told him this in the interview.
