When Detroit Institute of Arts Security Guard Roderick Walker greets the Museum’s Director, Salvador Salort-Pons, he asks an important question: “How is the force today?”

The two colleagues have bonded over the fact that they both believe in the strength of “the force” referenced in Star Wars movies.  In this StoryCorps Detroit segment, Salort-Pons interviews Walker about his life growing up and the role art played in it.

Want to hear more from Roderick Walker? Turns out he cohosts a podcast called Cool Nerds Unite that covers comics, television, movies and more.
