What Time Are The Detroit Fireworks This Year?
All the details you need to know ahead of the 60th annual Ford Fireworks in downtown Detroit on Monday, June 25th.
The Ford Fireworks start at 9:55 p.m. on Monday, June 25th.
It’s the 60th anniversary of the Detroit fireworks, which also celebrate our Canadian neighbors’ day of independence on July 1st.
The fireworks show spans 24 minutes and includes over 10,000 pyrotechnics that are visible from miles. The theme this year is “Come Alive in the D!”
The event has been sponsored by Ford Motor Co. since 2013 and is produced by the Parade Company, who throw a rooftop party that’s considered one of the best views in the city and also acts as a fundraiser for the organization.
Where’s the best spot to watch?
That’s up for debate, but some of the most popular places include Hart Plaza, Belle Isle and a slew of parking garages scattered throughout downtown. Each location has its own costs, rules and regulations, which ClickOnDetroit has done a good job of rounding up.
What happens if the weather is bad?
A rain-out day for the Ford Fireworks is Tuesday, June 26th and would be held at the same time (9:55 p.m.), but Parade Company president and CEO Tony Michaels says it’s rare that rain-out days happen. So far, the weather looks promising with sunny skies and a high of 77 degrees.
