Boil Water Advisory May Be Extended Into Weekend [FACT SHEET]
Pressure and quality testing resumes after leak discovered, repaired.
So there’s been a bit of a hiccup at the site of the broken water main on 14 Mile Road in Farmington Hills.
The Great Lakes Water Authority gave an update on repairs Thursday afternoon. It says new sections of pipe were installed Wednesday. When they pressure-tested the line, they found a leak. GLWA says crews have fixed the leak, and they expect to bring the main back on line Thursday. Pressure and quality testing will resume, but is expected to continue into the weekend. That means it’s unlikely the boil water advisory that was issued on Monday will be lifted Friday as anticipated.
The advisory remains in effect for:
- Bloomfield Township
- Commerce Township
- Farmington Hills north of I-696
- Keego Harbor
- Novi and Novi Township
- Oakland Township‘s Kings Pointe and Hills of Oakland subdivisions
- Orchard Lake Village
- Rochester Hills north of Hamlin Road, west of Livernois
- Walled Lake
- West Bloomfield Township
- Wixom
