President Trump has said many times he thinks the Iran nuclear deal is bad for the United States.
He has threatened to leave the pact, but it appears most people in Washington think the U.S. should honor the deal.
What’s the future of this still-young agreement between uneasy and unfamiliar partners?
Saeed Khan, expert in Near and Middle East politics and history and lecturer at Wayne State University, joins Detroit Today with Stephen Henderson to speak about the potential consequences of ending the nuclear deal with Iran.
“Along with the Affordable Care Act, the Iran nuclear deal has been one of (President Trump’s) two longest lasting complaints,” explains Khan. “At the same time, there’s a begrudging acceptance (of the deal) even by critics of the deal initially on Capitol Hill.”
