Flint Business Group Hopes to Attract Investment After Water Crisis

The Flint Water Crisis has made it harder for the city to attract and keep residents. It’s no different for businesses.

But the Flint and Genesee Chamber of Commerce hopes to convince more companies to move in.

Janice Karcher is vice president of the chamber’s Economic Development Action Group. She tells WDET’s Jake Neher she’s taking that message to this week’s Mackinac Policy Conference.

“Flint and the entire Genesee County has a lot of resources and assets… that the rest of the state don’t have,” says Karcher. “We have a lot of strengths that have really brought us back into some strong momentum in terms of economic activity.”
