An informational meeting aimed at supporting and bolstering homeownership for longtime and native Detroiters drew more than 60 attendees tonight. “Connecting the Dots of Home Ownership” was sponsored by a nonprofit called Our Community Resurgence. The evening consisted of a panel that presented on mortgage programs, the City of Detroit Land Bank, hiring contractors, financial literacy, and what residents should expect from neighborhood police officers and district managers.

Although the meeting was held downtown, most question-askers identified themselves as Detroit residents living in neighborhoods outside of the city center. Several identified themselves as current homeowners.

Raw and unedited audio from the presentations as well as a question-and-answer session is available by clicking the player above. The first speaker is Orlando Robinson, the Founder of Our Community Resurgence and the host of the event. Robinson is also the President of a construction company called D&D Innovations.
