MDEQ Lifts Boil Water Advisory

Tests show no contamination.

UPDATE at 10:30 a.m., Mar. 3: The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality has lifted the boil water advisory for parts of Detroit and its enclaves of Highland Park and Hamtramck. The Great Lakes Water Authority reports two rounds of tests have shown no bacterial contamination in the water supply, therefore, customers no longer need to boil their tap water before using it. GLWA says customers who haven’t used their water for six hours or more should run it from the tap until it’s cold, and keep it running for two more minutes.
