It could be a big year for business in Detroit. The Automotive Hall of Fame, Lear, the Pistons and many others all have plans to move to the city in 2017. But what does this mean for future growth within the city?

R.J. King, editor of dBusiness magazine, joins Detroit Today host Stephen Henderson to discuss the evolving business scene of Detroit.

King says the momentum behind Quicken Loans and related companies is driving development Downtown and attracting younger crowds.

As a result, the retail industry within the city has expanded with stores such as Nike and John Varvatos opening their doors. In addition to this, events such as the auto show and LuminoCITY work to create a livelier environment.

“It’s gotten cool to be downtown,” says King. “And there’s nothing else like it in the region.”
