Former State Senate Leader: Gov. Snyder Deserves More Credit
With Snyder’s seventh State of the State Address less than a week away, how do you think he has done?
Gov. Rick Snyder delivers his annual State of the State address on Tuesday, January 17. Snyder has two years remaining in his term, and must begin to craft a message around his legacy.
Randy Richardville, former state Senate majority leader, says Snyder deserves more credit than he often gets from his many detractors. Snyder has received a lot of criticism in recent years over legislation to overhaul Detroit’s school system and the Flint water crisis. Richardville tells Detroit Today host Stephen Henderson that Snyder has helped craft a state government that is more functional than the federal government.
“Working together with the other side is something I think Michigan does a lot better than Washington,” says Richardville.
“I’ve been a part of it, I’ve watched it since I left and I think Rick Snyder is a big part of that. I think this criticism of him and handling of the Flint water crisis is unfair.”
