Is Trump Already Leading Us Into New Conflicts?

Trump in Warren 4

President-elect Donald Trump doesn’t take office for another two weeks, but he’s already caused a stir with foreign relations many other countries.

Trump has threatened to end or change long-standing trade deals, and military relationships with NATO allies. He’s praised Russian leader Vladimir Putin, while calling for a potential renewed nuclear arms race. And he’s ruffled feathers in China by speaking with the head of Taiwan, and by insinuating a strong-arm approach against North Korea.

Is our next president leading us into new international conflicts or, as he argues, helping smooth over contentious relationships the U.S. has harbored for many years? Are the fears and anxieties Trump has drummed up in America and throughout the world warranted?  What’s the best thing our next president could do to further a mission of peace throughout the world?
