Researchers Unleash ‘Bigly’ List of Banned Words
Lake Superior State University annual list of words that should be banned includes “bigly,” “post-truth” and “Dad-bod.”
In 2017 researchers at Lake Superior State University say they hope people will avoid talking in “echo chambers” and try not to speak in a “big league” kind of way.
Those are some of the phrases in the university’s annual list of words that should be banned from the Queen’s English for being overused, misused or just simply useless.
The University’s John Shibley tells WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter that many of the words banned this time have to do with the recent political season.
