Green Flashers Alert Drivers to Maintenance Vehicles Ahead [VIDEO]

Oakland and other counties use new lights to make vehicles easier to see.

 

Flashing green lights could help drivers spot snow plows and other maintenance vehicles more easily this winter. Kent County was the first to use green flashers on its road commission trucks two years ago, and officials there say none of those vehicles have been hit from behind since then. Denise Donohue of the County Road Association of Michigan tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller most of its 83 members, including Oakland County, have added green lights to some of their fleets.
