Former Oak Park Mayor Remembers the Heyday of Northland Center

The city of Southfield recently unveiled plans for the site of the closed Northland Center. In it’s heyday, the mall was one of the largest in North America and accelerated the demise of downtown Detroit’s shopping district. Former Oak Park Mayor Jerry Naftaly has written a new book about the mall’s history and its impact on generations of Metro Detroiters.
