The Detroit Public Schools Community District hopes an injection of innovation will help it improve academic outcomes for students, change public perceptions of education in the city and reverse a trend toward lower enrollment. WDET’s Sascha Raiyn looks at one of the district’s new programs — its free Montessori — and the people hoping to make it work.
