Vacant Buildings Become Indoor Farms

Indoor Farming giving new purpose to vacant buildings in Detroit.

Indoor farming is gaining traction in Detroit. Using vertical shelving and hydroponic systems, entrepreneurs are turning abandoned buildings into greenhouses producing kale, basil, and other vegetables available for sale to local businesses. One example is Artesian Farms. Jeff Adams is the Managing Partner for the company. He spoke with WDET’s Bre’Anna Tinsley about the benefits of growing produce indoors.
