Road Trip! AAA Says a Third of Americans Plan to Travel This Year

Auto club says consumers are saving money on fuel, giving them more to spend.

A survey by AAA shows 35 percent of American families plan to take a vacation 50 miles or more from home this year. More than half of those who responded (55 percent) say they’re more likely to take a road trip because fuel prices are lower than they were a year ago. The auto club says this summer’s fuel prices should be the lowest they’ve been in 12 years.
