Motor City Match Helps Open A New Wine Shop

The third round of Detroit businesses will receive $500,000 in grants through Motor City Match.

Motor City Match has announced 500 thousand dollars in grants to nine new small businesses in Detroit. The grants go to entrepreneurs looking to build businesses in Detroit neighborhoods. Brix Wine and Charcuterie Boutique is among the awardees. The business will sell smoked meats, cheeses, and wine. It will also offer internships to students who want to learn more about healthy eating. Mikiah Westbrooks is the owner of Brix Wine.

She spoke with WDET’s Bre’Anna Tinsley about the internships benefits.
