Hot Rods Rev Up Cobo Center
It’s Autorama time again.
A different kind of auto show takes over Cobo Center in downtown Detroit this weekend. Meguiar’s Autorama features more than 800 hot rods, custom-built vehicles, trucks, and motorcycles from all over the world. Pete Toundas is the president and owner of Championship Auto Shows. He tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller custom builders put a lot of pride and passion into their work. Autorama also has the distinction of awarding hot rodding’s top prize, the Ridler Award to the entry deemed “best in show”. The event starts Friday, February 26 at noon and runs through Sunday the 28th. Click the audio player to hear the conversation.
