WSU Student-Athletes Reach New High in Classroom

Warriors achieved 3.15 GPA in fall semester.

Wayne State University says its student-athletes scored the highest grade point average (3.15) in the athletic department’s history in Fall 2015. The department says two out of three Warriors carried a GPA above 3.0, and 21 had a 4.0 GPA in the fall semester. Athletic Director Rob Fournier tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller WSU strives for excellence on and off the field. Fournier adds the department’s 71 percent graduation rate is 40 percent higher than the university’s as a whole. Click on the audio player to hear the conversation.
