Activist and Editor Frank Joyce discusses his book about Vietnam and the anti-war movement.
Racial tension. Debates over Civil and Constitutional rights. A movement of disenchanted young people. Frustration over a seemingly endless and directionless war. It may sound like a description of the modern news cycle, but this is also some of the defining characteristics of the 1960s in America. In a new book: “The People Make The Peace — Lessons From The Vietnam Antiwar Movement” a group of activists talk about their experiences fighting against the war in Vietnam as young people. One of those co-editors is Frank Joyce. Joyce joins Detroit Today host Stephen Henderson for a conversation about American culture and the anti-war movement, then and now.
