Obama Visits the Cass Corridor

POTUS visits the Jolly Pumpkin and Shinola in Midtown.

President Obama made a stop in the Cass Corridor during his visit to Detroit. The President visited some of the newer establishments of Midtown following a visit to the North American International Auto Show. Darryl Hunter from Detroit was on his way to lunch when he noticed a large police presence in the area.

“Well you know, we’re in Detroit and we thought that something had happened and then we saw all of the police officers come around and we thought, ‘What’s going on?’ Then we got searched and they said the bomb sniffing dogs had left, they searched us when we came in and they said they had a dignitary.”

Hunter says he later met the President, who was eating with Mayor Mike Duggan, at the Jolly Pumpkin. The President also made a stop at the Shinola shop next door.
