Former Southfield Mayor Democrat Brenda Lawrence is embarking on her second year in a new legislative role: Serving as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Lawrence says the experience has been both eye-opening and a new way to help attract employers to Metro Detroit.

The Congresswoman talked about life on Capitol Hill with WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter.
