Holiday Travel Season Could Be Michigan’s Busiest Since 2001

AAA says Christmas/New Year’s travel could top 100 million people nationwide for the first time.

AAA is forecasting the busiest holiday travel season ever in the U.S. The auto club says it expects more than 100 million people to travel 50 miles or more from home between December 23 and January 3. It would be the first time that many people have traveled during the Christmas-New Year’s Day period. AAA spokesperson Susan Hiltz says more than three million people in Michigan will take a holiday trip.
