MSP Cracks Down on Commercial Vehical Enforcement

The Michigan State Police is increasing enforcement of driving violations by commercial vehicles.

Semi truck

Michigan, Ohio and Indiana State troopers are watching for driving violations among commercial vehicles this week. Michigan’s “Eyes on 94” initiative is part of a multi-state effort to reduce accidents involving semi-trucks.

Lieutenant Steve Pascoe says commercial vehicles often contribute to accidents.

“We’re not seeing an overwhelming number of crashes caused by anything else but driver error or bad behavior,” Pascoe says.

Pascoe says driving too closely, improper lane use and speeding are factors in highway crashes. He says I-94 is a major route for commercial vehicles in Michigan.
