Idea Market, a company dedicated to funding upcoming businesses, is calling on entrepreneurs to come up with innovative ways to improve transit in the city.

Participants of the “Detroit Transportation Challenge” will determine ways to provide safe, efficient, and cost-effective public transportation for the community.

Nima Adelkhami is the Chief Innovator Evangelist for Idea Market. He says the group is looking to everyday people for the answers

“We think that innovation doesn’t always come from trained professionals or corporate,” Adelkhami says. “They come from small teams who are just kind of taking an interesting or different approach or thinking outside the box.”

Idea Market is taking applications from participants across the globe who are willing to relocate to Detroit to work on their concepts.

The winning project idea will receive almost $250,000 in grants and services.
