The Michigan State University College of Engineering has enrolled more than 1,000 female students for the 1st time.

Michigan State University’s College of Engineering has more than 1,000 women enrolled for the first time in the school’s history. The school says the increased enrollment is a result of recruiting efforts to get more women interested in the field. College of Engineering Dean Leo Kempel says there’s interest in all of the engineering degree programs.

We have ten undergraduate degree programs and all of them have seen increases in the number of women students. The two with the largest numbers are mechanical engineering and chemical engineering.
