Officials at The Detroit Zoo are investigating the cause of a data breach in the facility’s gift shop. The culprits targeted credit card numbers, names, and security codes for transactions that occurred from mid-March to mid-June.

The Zoo’s Chief Operating Officer, Gerry VanAcker, says malicious software was found on the shop’s registers.

Tickets and membership sales were not affected. VanAcker says patrons should check their credit card stubs for any fraudulent purchases.
