Grace Centers of Hope broke ground this morning on a new women and children’s center in Pontiac. The facility will provide additional housing for those enrolled in a program, which helps women and families transition to stable housing, sobriety, and employment.

Pastor Kent Clark is the center’s CEO. He says the facility is not funded by the government.

“We’re always looking for volunteers to come to Grace Centers and actually see for themselves,” Clark says. “If you’re an electrician, a carpenter, a plumber, you can always come and volunteer and help us in that way.”

Clark says the center launched a campaign last year to raise nearly $6 million to fund the project. He says the center has raised almost half of that goal.
