A new film festival exploring the contemporary “Afrofuturism” art movement is underway at at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit. It’s called “Afrotopia”, and it’s the project of Detroit native and globally known cultural producer Ingrid LaFleur. When she spoke with WDET’s Travis Wright, LaFleur talked about how “Afrotopia” is a response to a troubling homecoming.
