Safe Roads Symposium to Discuss Proposal One
The Michigan Municipal League will weigh the pros and cons of Proposal One at the Safe Roads Symposium.
The Michigan Municipal League is planning a Safe Roads Symposium. The event is designed to create a forum for the discussion of the ballot referendum known as Proposal One, which calls for raising some taxes in part to help pay for fixing and maintaining roadways.
The league’s John LaMacchia says the goal is to bring together a panel of experts to discuss the issue.
“In general we have to really talk about what the true benefit is,” he says. “And I think that we will be able to address that in its entirety, whether it’s, you know, really helping us provide safe roads, better schools, better local government, that’s our objective here.”
The symposium will be held at the Velocity Collaboration Center in Sterling Heights at the end of the month.
